Sometimes when the job poster share information, they forget that the bidder who reads it doesn't know all the details that they take for granted. So, In order to get a higher number of bids that are more accurate on the jobs that need doing, we have put together some tips for consideration.
Is there a Brand or Model involved?
If you have an item that needs fixing, try to provide the make and if possible the model number.
If you are looking for a product with your job, for example, a certain brand of paint to be used for a decorating job, be sure to list the brand name that you would like your bid to include. If you are posting a Job for autocare consider providing the VIN number as it can really help with costings.
Are there sizes or dimensions that they need to know?
If the job is to cover a surface area, for example a carpet needs cleaning or if you need a pool digging out, try to provide all of the relevant measurements that you can.
Do you have a deadline or ideal date to work to?
If you have a deadline of any kind, be sure to mention it in the job posting; it will save time for you and the tradespeople if they know they can't match your schedule expectations.
Can you provide photos?
Photos are great as a picture speaks a thousand words. If there is an error code or display on a device or appliance then a photo may also clarify further queries that may arise from the service provider.
If a service provider needs to visit your premises, is the area accessible?
It's also a good idea to provide information or a photo of the task in its surrounding environment. If a boiler that needs fixing is in a cupboard, then you could also provide a photo of the whole room, so that the specialist can evaluate accessibility. If the specialist will need ladders, scaffolding or specific equipment then it's wise to mention this in the job posting.
Does the specialist need to know anything about your household?
Do you have any pets the tradesperson may be allergic to, is there anyone in the household shielding or needs special care or attention?
